Every Formula 1 team bar HRT was already testing at the Circuit de Catalunya on Tuesday. Today, the teams are back at it, though Lotus packed up and returned to Enstone following a tear in the car’s chassis yesterday. They will not be participating in the rest of this week’s testing sessions.
The test session began promptly at 9:00 AM with 2.1ºC air and 8.3ºC track temperature. Next to the current world champion Sebastian Vettel, who delivered a good show yesterday by driving the quickest lap without any problems, Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and his F2012 take to the track again infront of the home crowd.
Nico Rosberg is sitting in the cockpit of the Mercedes W03 today, following Schumacher’s solid performance yesterday. It marks his first run under official test conditions. Sahara Force India F1 starts the day with Nico Hulkenberg at the wheel. Lewis Hamilton (McLaren), Sergio Perez (Sauber), Valtteri Bottas (Williams), Charles Pic (Marussia), Daniel Ricciardo (Toro Rosso) and Vitaly Petrov, who is debuting with Caterham, complete the field.
